Berry Brothers & Rudd are not only Britain’s oldest wine and spirit merchants but they are one of the most most respected and revered independent bottlers in the country.

Johnny McMillan from The Great Whisky company will be here at the Whiski Rooms to host a tasting of some of the amazing whiskies Berrys’ have to offer.

Ticket numbers are very small so we’d advise to book quickly in order to try out some of these amazing exclusive whiskies.

Tasting ticket price includes £5 voucher redeemable against any 70cl single malt whisky in store.

Nigel Kennedy plays live at WHISKI Bar

What a night this has been – the worlds best selling violinist Nigel Kennedy sold out the Usher Hall on 12th Jan 2012  as part of his UK tour and tonight he joined our resident band and played live in WHISKI Bar last night 13th Jan 2012!!
His whole entourage of friends and crew came in for a meal and then got a fiddle out and joinedin with our band, The Gorms. Truly electric was the atmosphere in WHISKI last night.

A riot of fiddles is no stranger here as Scottish foot stomping music is our speciality and every night of the week all year round there is lots of toe tapping fabulous bands on here but with Nigel Kennedy playing live with us tonight it was a magic experience for everyone in the bar. Two of his band also played live afterwards making this a Friday to remember. He was a lovely guy and stayed till the very end enjoying the atmosphere and chatting.

WHISKI wins Whisky Bar of the Year 2011

On Monday 20^th June 2011, WHISKI bar on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile was awarded Whisky Bar of the Year at the 2011 DRAM awards, the Oscars of the licensed trade industry.  This is the first time that an Edinburgh bar has won this top accolade and the judges commented that “WHISKI goes to exceptional lengths to promote whisky in Scotland, with over 300 whiskies, whisky cocktails and extremely well trained staff”

WHISKI also opened a new venue called WHISKI Rooms on Sunday 19^th June 2011 overlooking the iconic Mound in Edinburgh. WHISKI Rooms is a hybrid venue comprises a specialist whisky shop with a dedicated tasting room that will host daily whisky tastings in summer, a bar and an all day dining bistro serving fresh local Scottish produce.

“We are delighted with the DRAM Whisky Bar of the Year award and feel that again the profile of whisky will be raised with this recognition of Whiski in the capital ofScotland and the launch of our new venue WHISKI Rooms” said owner Gary Still.

March Glenfiddich Sampling Sessions

Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight

WHISKI is pleased to announce that the famous WHISKI Wednesdays will be back as part of Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight (SFDF). SFDF is  Scotland’s annual celebration  of Scottish  food and drinks and runs from the 5th to the 18th September 2010 with events taking place all over Scotland.

Every year we support this initiative and hold WHISKI WEDNESDAY’s whereby everyone who orders a main meal in the bar from 5PM onwards on either Wednesday gets to sample a FREE nip of whisky with their meal. This year it will be Baillie Nicol Jarvie whisky and as always we serve the very best and freshest Scottish food – why not come on down and sample some favourites like Cullen Skink or our award winnig MacSween’s Haggis – our food menu is here and we will have something you will enjoy.

Later on at 10PM as the evening gets darker, the live music starts up and either Bowfain or The Whistleblowers will be playing live Scottish music – so come and enjoy the ultimate Scottish experience that is thet WHISKI bar.

World Cup 2010 Football Fixtures @ WHISKI

The World Cup 2010 is fast approaching and we have been preparing – hanging blackout blinds so we can ensure a good view of the massive projector screen at the back  for example.
